AGSC Excels in Prestigious Jefferson Cup Tournament

Richmond, VA - The club's B2011 Green team showcased exceptional talent and determination, leaving a mark in their inaugural participation at the esteemed event.

In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, the B2011 Green team kicked off their campaign with a resounding 3-0 victory over the #1 ranked team from Delaware, setting the tone for their tournament journey. Building on their momentum, they secured another impressive win with a 2-0 triumph against the #5 ranked team from Maryland, who held the #46 spot in the national rankings. These victories catapulted them into the semifinals, a remarkable feat for their first appearance at the Jefferson Cup.

Although they fell short in the semifinals, their performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of outstanding. The team's resilience and determination earned them recognition, culminating in a commendable #5 ranking in New York East and an impressive #91 ranking nationally.

In addition to the B2011 Green team's success, AGSC also fielded their B2013 Green team in the tournament. Despite facing tough competition, the boys showcased their skill and tenacity, securing a notable victory against NCFC Youth in the opening game. Though they didn't advance to the knockout stage, their participation was marked by commendable efforts and sportsmanship.

Looking ahead, our club is gearing up for another exciting chapter in the Jefferson Cup tournament as their G2006 team prepares to compete in the Girls Showcase next week. With a legacy of excellence and a commitment to developing young talent, the club continues to make its mark on the national soccer stage.
